Job Purpose
As a System Business Analyst for Planning, you will play an important role in the business by serving as a liaison between various Business Stakeholders, the Systems Team, Pepkor IT, and other information technology vendors. You will be the vehicle for developing appropriate business processes and underlying system functionality in order to carry out business strategy and empower Merchandise Planning teams. You will accomplish this by eliciting and analyzing company needs, procedures, and systems. You will be expected to use industry standards and best practices to design and manage project scope, as well as meet objectives.
Required Experience
Essential:
- +/- 5 Years of Apparel Retail experience includes merchandise planning, demand forecasting, inventory management, allocation and replenishment, store planning, clustering, and category planning.
- Discovering and documenting business processes to facilitate continuous improvement.
- Manage and determine business requirements to allow processes via systems.
- Elicitation and documentation of BRS/BRD.
- Internal and external stakeholder collaboration and engagement.
- Document Test Cases to allow for extensive testing of system functionality and configuration.
- Project Management
- Facilitate training/change management.
BAU support for systems and business, including awareness of system architecture and integration environments (technical competency).
UML (High-level context diagram, business process model and notation, use case diagram, use case narrative, product breakdown structure, system architecture diagram, flow chart, business workflow diagram)Basic Oracle / Structured Query Language (SQL) – area-specific.
Preferable:
- Advanced knowledge of merchandise planning software (e.g., JDA, SAP, Just Enough, Oracle Retail) to assist planning users and processes.
Qualifications Required
Essential:
Grade 12 Certificate/Matric.
Requirements include a relevant degree or higher national diploma in fields such as information technology, computer science, system design, management, business studies, information systems, and business analysis.
Preferred:
Project Management Diploma or Certificate

Job-Related Knowledge and Skills Required
Knowledge Required:
- In-depth knowledge of retail processes.
- Worked on cross-functional projects using both Waterfall and Agile approaches.
- Working understanding of how to implement and maintain systems, services, and applications.
- Understanding of PMBOK and BABOK management principles.
- Ability to compile quantitative and/or qualitative information/reporting.
- MS Suite Intermediate requires advanced user skills and system integration for specific environments or areas.
- Knowledge of Personal Data Protection (POPIA)
- Working knowledge of cloud-based (SaaS) software solutions for service delivery.
Hardware and software lifecycle management - SDLC involves implementing governance rules for change control and managing defects.
Fit for purpose system integration in both ERP and non-ERP environments. - Using multiple modelling techniques.
- UI/UX Process Mapping Tools (Draw.io, etc.)
