JOB DESCRIPTION
Overview
As part of the Standard Insurance financial team, this function is responsible for providing infrastructure, tools, and frameworks for end-to-end solutions to actuarial, IT, and data-related difficulties. You will construct scalable architecture as a Data Analyst to extract significant business insights from raw data sources. Your tasks will involve data collection, management, analysis, visualization, and development of analytical solutions. You’ll also be responsible for extending and optimizing Standard Bank’s data and data pipeline architecture, as well as ensuring efficient data flow to support data initiatives.
Qualifications
- BSc or BCom
- Nearly/Newly Qualified Actuary or MSc Statistics with at least 5 years’ experience in a complicated insurance setting is required.
Experience Required
- Understanding of the fundamentals of the short-term insurance business, with a preference for knowledge of IFRS 17.
- Basic accounting understanding.
- Understanding of data mining and data enrichment for financial reporting.
- Extensive experience with IFRS 17 reporting software.
